School Story:

Every day life at Baker was full of some difficult classes, some not so difficult, lots of studying, hanging out with some of my best friends, Joyce White (Brunett), Diane Pierce (Barkshire), Carol Hobbs (Walker). Diane made the best fried balogna sandwiches for us as we watched "All My Children" at her house almost every day during our lunch break, tryouts, dandylion practice, borrowing my brother's car, getting yelled at for borrowing my brother's car (well...he was asleep 😴), afternoons at Flat Rock, after school parties at someone's house....rush parties, letting Frank Norbury and Dennis Howard borrow my VW and then hearing about how Frank tortured it doing donuts in the courtyard 😳 At least he didn't wreck it and my tires held up fine. 😎 hanging out with my neighbors Doreen Collins (married to Barry Collyer) and her sister Arleen Collins, and - best of all - the football games - watching and cheering "the guys" on! It doesn't seem all that long ago.....but it has been. I was very fortunate and blessed to have such a wonderful family and many, many great friends and can't wait to see you again soon.....

What are your memories of high school (i.e. secret crush, embarrassing moment, funniest thing you did in high school, favorite high school hang out, favorite teachers)?

I'll always remember the great times with my first "real" boyfriend, Augie Bellardine. We dated during our Junior year. We still remain friends after all these years. I am so happy he found the love of his life, Faye Beasley Bellardine. I not only thought Faye was beautiful and very sweet, but I thought they made a perfect couple. They have beautiful children and gorgeous grandchildren. ❤
Secret crush....hmmmm, probably not such a secret, but I had a little crush on Dennis, along with most of the girls at BHS 🤷‍♀️ I had other crushes but can't remember them now 😉
Funniest thing I did? Probably invite everyone to my house for a party thinking my parents would never know. Sooooo many showed up, we had a fabulous time, but, I had fallen asleep, my brother came home to a mess and everyone had already left. He came in my room (pretty mad) asking "what the hell happened here today?" Well, thanks to my brother, we got everything cleaned up quickly inside and outside. By the time my parents got home, they had no clue, except one tiny little thing....ALL of our ice was missing from the ice maker! Oops, didn't think about that 🤔 I just said...hmmm...must have accidentally gotten turned off! OMG. Got away with it! Never again! Wasn't funny then, but sure is now thinking back 😅 very close call. *whew*

Biggest thing you would do differently if you went back to your time at BHS?

Probably study a lot more and Aced every class like I was capable of doing 🤷‍♀️

What did you always want to do that you haven't done yet?

Return to France where I was born to spend time with all my cousins. When I go, I plan on living there for at least a year...maybe more. My amazing cousin Claudine has invited me so many times but I had to retire first and now I am happily retired. Claudine has a big house and lives alone so she really wants me there with her. I can't wait!!

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I still love to sing. I ran my karaoke business for years and have some of the best memories. I retired my business in 2006 when I accepted a position as Office Administrator for a very large architectural firm, James W. Buckley & Associates (offices in Savannah, Swainsboro, Rome, St. Simons Island and Albany). I learned so much about all the work involved in designing K-12 schools. It was truly an amazing place to work for 13 years until I retired.

My favorite movie of all time is:

Gone with the Wind (just too long)

My favorite books are:

Anything by John Grisham

Birthplace?

Verdon. France
