Judith Eve Zamecnik, age 77, succumbed after a lengthy illness to be with the Lord on Monday, November 15, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on January 11, 1944 in Anniston, Alabama to Eve Williams and Major Charles Zamecnik. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in English and Language Arts, and went on to earn her Master’s Degree. Her passion in life was teaching English and she taught for 26 years at Robert G. Cole High School in San Antonio, TX. Her students loved her dearly and frequently kept in contact with her over the years. Judi had many hobbies, which included: reading, writing, cooking, traveling, sports and socializing with her many friends. After retirement, Judi found joy in doing volunteer work to help others. Aside from her love of people, she had a great adoration for animals and found homes for many in need. She cherished her two precious dogs Candy and Coco. It gave her great pleasure to feed the deer gathering daily in her backyard. Judi had a very vibrant personality and will be missed by all who knew her. God gets to enjoy her beautiful company now. She was preceded in death by her mother, Eve Zamecnik and father, Major Charles Zamecnik. Judi is survived by her sister, June Sharrer; brother, David Zamecnik and his wife Chris; nieces, Shaun Statham and Sara Zamecnik.  The family is forever grateful for the close friendship that Judi had with Leticia Villanueva, which lasted 43 years.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Porter Loring Mortuary North. A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either The Salvation Army or The Assistance League of San Antonio.
