Lynda Irene Bruce Phillips
(17 April 1950-01 August 2018), 68, died mid-day this past Wednesday due to complications arising from cardiac arrest resulting in a single-car accident. Mrs. Phillips was born in Norfolk, VA to the late James Norman Bruce and the late Marie Durden Bruce, relocating to Columbus, GA at an early age. She was a career Registered Nurse with a long and storied life in many operating rooms over many types of surgeries. She was a loving wife and wonderful mother. She spent many hours and many years involved in Scouting as a Den Mother and Pack Leader. She had a passion for singing and was an active member and soloist in her Church choir and a soloist for many weddings, funerals, and sporting events. Her departure from this world will be felt far and wide, as her smile, her laugh, and her loving personality were known to and felt by many. Lynda is survived by her son, Kenneth Paul Phillips, her soon-to-be daughter-in-law Andrea Jean O'Donnell, and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 8th at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons with Rev. Dr. Walter Jones officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 PM, as well, on Wednesday. A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.

My heart breaks to read this about Lynda's passing. She was always so sweet and kind in high school. Never a negitive thing to say about anyone. I loved her like a sister. Always an inspiration to others. This world loses and wonderufl soul!! However, I know as a solid Christian she is in a better place. You will leave a big hole Lynda.
