REUNION INFO

Instead of posting announcements about upcoming REUNIONS, You could create a Reunion Forum for your Class Year and THIS Reunion and then Announce, Design, Plan, etc.... Notify your class about your forum and how to reach it!

LIONS! Click here to view the Reunion Forum list for

YOUR Forum! forums.bakerlionspride.com/threads.cfm

HOW TO CREATE A REUNION FORUM/TOPIC:

Click on LION FORUMS (left side of your screen)

Click on BHS REUNIONS

Right above -  Forums: BHS REUNIONS

Click on "Post New Topic"

A new "blank form" screen displays. Fill in the title field - NAME your Class Reunion Forum - Please stay within the site format to keep everyone "straight" in finding which forum and not getting confused..... ex:  BHS 73 Reunion (35th) (or something close...)

TAB to the Message Body and type an introduction to your Forum - like an Introduction Paragraph to a paper you're writing.... :>

This will be the first message your Class LIONS see each time they enter your Forum! Perhaps giving them instructions about the Forum and when/where etc. about your reunion and anything else they just gotta know... :)

Leave "Subscribe to Thread" as YES so you'll always get a copy of LIONS posting messages sent to your email account. This way you can monitor keep up with the Forum.
Leave "Make Sticky" on NO.

Click on SAVE. Then you'll see the message below:

Click to View Your Message and you can Edit it for any corrections, if you'd like to....... Look at the top of your message and you'll see:

This is sent to the Forum Moderator, Terry Nunnally to approve but any Class Administrator can also approve it. They just aren't notified via email.

If it seems to take awhile for Terry to approve it - View the LionsPride Site Info page on the left side of your screen to see WHO the Admins are and then look to see if any of the Admin'ers happen to be logged on the site at same time as you...

You could send them a site message (go to their profile and send a message) and request they approve your topic - let them know the Baker Reunions Forum and the name of your forum/topic....

Once Your Forum/Topic (Let's always call it Forum even though technically it is a topic within a forum....) :>, you are ready to roll...... You could ask your Class Admin person to send a site email out to your Class letting them know about the Forum and how to get to it - what it's there for - INSPIRE them to use it, etc....

Terry :)

HOW TO UPLOAD REUNION PHOTOS:
 - Aministrative personnel can create you a Guest Member Photo Page as we've done for the Class of 58 and 59 for each of their 50th Reunion photos.......

- once created, you'll be instructed to go to Lion Profiles and scroll all the way to bottom of the screen where the Guest Members are listed. Click on Reunion Photos Class of __ (__th).  And follow the screens to get logged in. Now in creating the password - create a "to be shared" one you can share with the folks who need to access the "account" to upload photos and write in the captions.......

- If you take a look (same place "Guest Members") at Reunion Photos Class of 58 and 59 - you'll see where you can add info in the area where you would normally (as a LION) add info about your children or grandchildren... you could type in info about your photo page so your viewers will understand what the photo page is all about.... :>

- Also, we have a BAKER REUNIONS Forum. It takes much longer to upload photos into the forum - so we started the Photo Page method - much faster and easier also. But once you establish your Class Reunion Photo Page - either yourself or ask an Admin person to assist you in creating an  entry under this Reunion Forum for your class and add your photo page link so folks can click on it to view your photo page.  Ask the Admin person to put a LINK in the BHS Reunion Photos page off the Home Page so folks can easily find your photos..... Once folks get to using our site, they get used to looking in different areas - this way we'll have links set up in diff areas to hopefully "capture" viewers! :>

LION Scrapbook Forum:
Complete these steps to reach this forum and read the Introduction to learn how to create YOUR Scrapbook and upload photos to share!
1. click on LION Forums (left side of screen)
2. click on LION Scrapbooks (scroll down 'til you see)
3. click on Introduction and read all messages!

LIONSPRIDE SITE HISTORY

Hello LIONS! I wrote the history below based on some discussions in our Message Forum the 23-27 week of March 2009. :> Terry

Earlier in the Message Forum we spoke of the development of this site ..... Many of you have recently shared exactly what I was thinking and feeling as I faced the aftermaths of brain aneurysm strokes, brain surgeries, and subsequent disability retirement. I felt extremely lonely and wanted a circle of friends...

I first reached out to my Baker Class of 73 as 2008 was our 35 Year Reunion. Needed a reunion website – searched the web - found several but decided to “test” www.classcreator.com. I was extremely WOW'D! AND at that time it was FREE except for the $19 per year domain cost. The website, via interactive-like video, walked me through creating an “individually styled” website. I was thrilled! (My background: 15 years as a Systems Analyst at Ft. Benning, GA – launched via an intern program).

I answered questions to configure the site to the “style” I was looking for. Once the website “sketch” was in place, I purchased the Domain name www.bakerlions73.com and went to work learning how to use the system/site. There wasn't much material at that stage of Classcreator to learn from but lots of OJT and TRIAL&ERROR and asking questions does wonders for learning! PIONEERING! Is fun! I configured and customized a lot from the sketch – added Plug-in Programs, input all 73 classmate data available at the time and invited 73ers to join the site..... Wow! We used the site for Reunion preparations: organize, monitor, receive reunion payment, show off photos, etc.... Great!

WWW.BakerLionsPride.com Reggie Liparoto Richards '73 approched me with “Hey, we need a way to centralize Baker High School information. The info about selling the school and about memorials is coming in and going out in all directions. Folks are getting confused....” I responded ... “Well, Reg..we could create an ALL CLASS website for this AND it will also be an opportunity for LIONS to once again get together and “Fellowship” together!” “YES! DO IT!, says Reggie....

I proceeded with similar steps as I did with the 73 website except this site would be a Multi-Year website! I had to configure a bit differently and ask lots of questions. Believe other High Schools around the world must have done the same because later in 2008 Classcreator re-programmed the web software to make it much easier to accommodate Multi-Year sites.

Classcreator now has a Help Forum for Site Administrators that helps tremendously for “staying on the edge” of technology and learning from “Lesson Learned” from other sites. Of course, we still have to implement the technology or “lessons learned” using our knowledge and experience.

I worked on customizing the site AND establishing Classmate Administrators and later in this time frame Admin Assistants (thanks to Bob Hight for this idea!) to assist with providing SITE SERVICE TO BAKER LIONS!!!! Now Gini is the main Home Page customizer – in fact she is the Home Page Administrator!

I searched around to discover points of contact for Baker Class Years to find LION CLASSMATE DATA! Good “networking” throughout the “Lions Pride” community – started “tallying-up” points of contact names; signing them up; they either had or reached out in their “class community” to get class lists or sent emails out to their classmate email distrbution lists inviting them to the new website. Myself and others went out to Classmates.com and introduced/invited Baker Classmates to join LIONSPRIDE! We've looked for every avenue available to provide a MAP back to LION COUNTRY for BAKER LIONS!

Paula Gross Lamm '74 encouraged us to Mirror the first Baker website www.baker.hs.org! Thanks Paula and Bob! Bob Hight still leads this project and his team of Admin Assistants and some of the Classmate Administrators have accomplished much in inputting almost all Classes 45-79 LIONS registered in the first BAKER website. Their next “Plan of Action” is to input Classes 80 - 94! Thanks to Bob Brown '65 and the Class of 65 - the first Baker site has much data archived and retrievable to the new site. Heavy workload to copy it over to LIONSPRIDE but nothing LIONS can't handle!!!! :>

Janurary 2009 Classcreator.com determined they needed to begin charging subscription fees for the web software, technical support, and server usage. The Baker Alumni Association, LEO, Lambda Epsilon Omega voted unanimously to pay for a $349.00 5 year subscription from LEO funds. Wow! Thanks LEO! This amount was paid on 26 Feb 09 and the subscription is in effect until Feb 2014. Let's all become a member of LEO! More info to follow soon on how...

ROAR ON MIGHTY LIONS!!!

Ms. Terry Nunnally Todd BHS '73

P.S. www.classcreator.com is for high school alumni and also allows families and business, etc. to use and purchase subscriptions for their web software. Subscriptions are very reasonsonable - run $97.00 per year and less if you purchase years in advance. I opted to show the CC advertisement on our home page because if someone gets a website with CC via our site, our site receives $50.00. We'll give this to LEO to reimburse the funds they gave for our site subscription. :> Terry
