Rita and I met in 1967. We were both in the 3rd grade and attending Lloyd Elementary School---DOD school, just off Victory Drive. Our fathers were both NCO's. She was the first friend I made when relocating to Ft. Benning from Ft. Campbell, with my family. We actually got into a little scuffle our first few weeks together, and then became good friends. You just can't imagine 2 little girls being so competitive about coloring books!

We used to use wax paper to "slick up" those giant slides on the playgrounds near our quarters, and humiliate the little boys around us for being so wimpy about barreling off of them.

Years went by, and we reconnected at Eddy and Baker, and finished school together. We had many similar interests and friends back then, to include our college years.

I think about and miss Rita often. I wish I would have spent more time talking with her at that Reunion in 2000. I think of her, and it always makes me smile.

I had a MAD CRUSH on Rita at Eddy Junior High. Don't remember what class it was but, I use to sit behind her and brush her hair. Can't believe she's gone and my wishes go out to here family and loved ones.

I met Rita at Eddy Junior High School. These were the guy days of Jeff Hudsonn, Jeff Goodrum, Hector Silva, David Mills, Junior Ortiz, Augie Bellardine, Marcus Crittenden, Herbert Joseph, Jeff Mackey, Michael Green, Michael Suber, etc.. Rita was a beautiful and kind person then and even mors as we matured. I will always remember her smile.

Rita was one of my best friends from 7th grade. I went to her wedding, she came to Florida to visit me, we were still friends throughout our 40s (years old) and I still dream and miss of her. God only knows how I miss her. Our last vacation was at C. Gardens in Georgia in our 40's. Can you believe that, we had a blast and kept waking up the front desk to bring more fire wood.

Rita Caro.....you were the Bomb in junior high school my friend. We became best friends in 8th grade and gave everybody a run for their money when it came to playing volleyball. We ruled the court with a tuff swing & a flying ball! I was heart broken to of heard about her death. She was not old either. Yep.....remember when her and Frank Moore dated off and on several times, love like cats and dogs. And that's when Helen Moore got to know Rita and became another friend added to the list. It just seems like yesterday. In a childhood memory up through highschool as well. My prayers and thoughts are with any of her remaining family members.

Cats and Dogs - pretty good but lacks the passion. Rome & Jules never come close. If there ever was a ever a word called sole mate, God must have had Frankie and Rita on his heart!!
