MY HEART WAS SO SAD TO HEAR OF JOHN CRIMMEL'S PASSING.  I MET JOHN IN MY JR YEAR AT BHS, AND BECAUSE WE LIVED IN OAKLAND PARK, WE BECAME FOREVER FRIENDS.  THERE ARE SO MANY FUN MEMORIES WITH HIM AND OTHER MUTUAL FRIENDS THAT WE COULD TALK HOURS ABOUT.  JUST SO MANY GOOD TIMES AND LAUGHS.  I AM SO GLAD TO HAVE MET HIS WIFE DIANE, WHO IS SUCH A SWEET LADY, AND THE TWO OF THEM WERE ALWAYS FUN TO RUN INTO AT BHS FUNCTIONS.  I WAS ALSO HAPPY TO MEET HIS SON BRIAN, AT ONE OF THE FUNCTIONS, OF COURSE HE HAS GROWN UP AND NOW HAS A FAMILY OF HIS OWN, WITH 4 GRANDCHILDREN THAT MADE JOHN & DIANE SO PROUD!!! THEY ARE SUCH A VERY KIND, AND LOVING FAMILY TO ALL.  MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS TO THEM TO CONTINUE TO STAY STRONG TOGETHER, AS THIS IS SUCH A DIFFICULT TIME TO LOSE THE MAN THEY LOVED.  WILL MISS YOU SO MUCH JOHN, BUT HOPE THERE IS ANOTHER GREAT PLACE THAT WE WILL ALL SEE YOU AGAIN!! TAKE CARE UNTIL THEN!

John was a very kind and giving person who never passed up a chance to meet anyone who might otherwise be a stranger. I new him well in high school and when I met him any time after graduation in our adult years it was though time had stood still, we were back to those school days. I new he loved his savior Jesus and from his fb post he cherished singing and sharing this love with his church. My prayers today are for his family in their loss of this big man (and big in so many ways) and hold on to the memories.

Very sad to hear of John's passing. I only knew him slightly during the years of our attendance at Baker High School, but as others have mentioned here, got to know him better during the years afterward. He was always active and enthusiastic about some project or other objective, and he was a positive influence to many of us. I am appreciative that he was very instrumental in Baker High School alumni groups and he did quite a lot in creating this and keeping it going. I have also very much appreciated his spirit which led him to much community involvement and exceptional care for others. He will certainly be missed, so am looking forward to seeing him and so many others in the great halls of the Baker High School of the afterlife, where I trust we all will meet again, in the same spirit, joy, and excitement that we had during the years of our attendance of our cherished and unique Baker High School, during the years of our youth, and of our initial entry into the vast world that many of us have now come to experience, both the good and the not so good. RIP John Crimmel; sadly. still another Lion has left us.

Very sorry to hear of John's passing.  I didn't know him well, the last time I saw him was at the 10 year reunion for our class and I remember him as being very sweet and kind, the people we need more of in this world.   My condolences to his family.

I just now read about John's passing. I am so very sorry for being behind the times. I did not know him much but from his time with BHS and his posts on FB I considered him a friend. My deepest thoughts and sympathy for his family.

How on earth do you say goodbye to a buddy, especially a buddy like John! Words fail when it comes to an expression of loss! To say I will miss John, or for that matter our Baker family is an understatement. But we can always look back on our great memories together with John especially when we cooked up that impromptu concert that our 35th reunion… John will be missed!! Our prayers go out to Diane and John's wonderful family! I know he is having a blast with Elvis and probably making Elvis listen to all of his Elvis songs!

John was a Baker Lion til the end. As president of the Alumni Association John was responsible for finding our beloved Lion, getting bricks after the demolition of BHS, the letters off the building. He will be missed by many. RIP MY friend.

As the years pass and our classmates dwindle, one recognizes the enormous blessings we experienced with and through our classmates.  Greatness then for some, but for most it came later.  John Crimmel exemplied all that was best in a "Baker Lion."  His work to bring together all year groups is clearly demonstrated in the Alumni Association as well as his work with younger generations.

My God's peace keep his family and friends until we are all united in eternity.
