So sorry to learn that Billy Garner died so very young . . . only 34 years old! Does anyone know how he died?

Billy was a secret love of mine in the 10th grade. When he was separated from his girlfriend during the Sadie Hawkins event, I asked him to go to the dance with me. He was sweet enough not to hurt my feelings and met me at the school for the dance. He even kissed me once before he "had to leave early". He was a very sweet young man, even if he couldn't keep his commitment for the entire dance. I'm sure he was very glad to get "out of there", LOL!  Anyway, he will always be a very sweet memory in my heart.

Does anyone know if he ever married? Did he have kids? Just curious.

Found this while doing some research on my deceased mother. Put in Billy's name and up came these pictures.

Seems he served in the Navy in Vietnam and was married at the time of his death.

Rest in peace, dear classmate.

Seems Billy served aboard the Cariier USS Forrestal CVA-59 from 1972-1973. Here's a pic of him as Boatswain Mate 2 in the ship's cruise book. He was in the 1st Division of the Deck Department, responsible for sea and anchoring detail

I really don't have a "thing" for Billy after all these years. I just thought it was a shame to not have more about a classmate here than just his photo. I just enjoy doing the research.

I remember that Billy took me on a date to play putt putt.  He was a very nice young man.
