Sharon Huff Thornton, of Fortson, Georgia, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021, at Piedmont Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, GA.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Rd. Columbus, Georgia with Jonathan Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Riverdale Cemetery in Columbus. The family will receive friends Monday, November 8th from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Vance Brooks – Columbus.

Mrs. Thornton was born on Christmas Eve, 1946, in Samoset, FL, the daughter of Elmer Crawford Huff and Mabel Odom Huff. She worked for Southern Bell for 10 years, before becoming a stay-at-home Mom. Sharon was very active in her children’s lives. She spent most of her days dedicated to her girls – raising them to be strong independent women. She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, cooking, and dancing with her husband. Sharon was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed living life to the fullest. She will always be remembered for the loving sister, wife, mother and grandmother she was, the exceptional high standards she kept, and the elegant way she carried herself.

Sharon is preceded in death by her father, Elmer Crawford Huff; mother, Mabel Odom Huff; two sisters, Carolyn Ann Wujek, and Betty Thomson; and brother, Billy Huff.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years Roy Thornton; three Daughters, Shannon (Eric) Fussell, Stephanie (Bubba) Woodham, and Shelley (Nate) Caballero; three granddaughters, Kamryn Elise Johnson, June Crawford Woodham, and Kylie Caballero; two grandsons, Jasper Thornton Woodham, and Colton Caballero; as well as several extended family and caring friends.
