Publication of Cherry Dawn Langley Chambers Posted Monday, October 7, 2024 09:42 PM Class of ’70 Graduate Sees Publication of Sixth Novel Cherry Dawn Langley Chambers, Baker High School Class of ’70, has announced publication of her sixth novel, Quill & Feathers. This book follows a four year run of novels in the All Her Visions series begun in 2020 on the heels of her first novel, Dark Shadows of Light which she dedicated to the BHS Class of ’70. Using Baker High and Columbus, GA as the setting, Cherry Dawn wrote a compelling novel of choices and consequences set in the city she had left behind and featuring a young senior forced to leave Baker and her friends. Completing Dark Shadows of Light in 2018, Cherry Dawn says, “I thought that was it. I was done. I was satisfied that I had finally achieved my goal of becoming a published author—and in more than one genre thanks to my two books of poetry. But I took a brief hiatus from writing to travel and to promote my books. When I came home, I recognized I just wasn’t finished. I had more stories to tell.” Born in Brunswick, Georgia, Cherry Dawn Langley Chambers spent all of her youth traveling with her parents, Sam A Langley, an officer in the United States Army, and her mother, Ivene Kate Harrison Langley, a poet and active homemaker. For sixteen years, her family moved from one military assignment to another across three continents, and she says, “our home went with us in boxes!” Fortunately for the author, when covid hit, those early months of quarantine proved beneficial enabling her to complete a second novel, Always Visions published in the Fall of 2020. “I was having such a great time writing these novels, but” she explained, “I didn’t really set out to write a series. Then I realized I wanted to write a back story and include my home in rural Georgia. It just snowballed into a series.” When asked if she had plans for another novel, she replied, “Of course! I’ve already got five chapters completed. I’m a writer. It’s what I do!” For more information about the book or the author, visit www.mythoughtwaves.com. Her books are available on Amazon.com and other online sites. Autographed copies may be obtained directly from the author via email at brickyard1800@yahoo.com. |
