Class of 1969

Baker High School Class of 1969 is having its 40th reunion this summer on July  21-AUgust 2, 2009 at Red Mountain State Park in Cartersville, Georgia.  I am working on compiling a master list of all our classmates to try to get word to as many as possible.  If you know of the address, phone number, or email of any '69 graduate please reply to this forum so I can compile the list.

Good work. Not very many people are registered on the "69" page. It would be nice to have a good size Reunion.  I'll be there too. If I can help let me know.

Do you want to take some of the list and go on the people search engines to see if we can find some more.  Trying to find all of us is a big task.  I have a dated list that I am going to start with from the 2000 reunion.

The dates for the reunion are actually  July 31 - August 1 ...although the idea of a 10-day reunion is intriguing!  Bobby, you missed a great one for the 20th.  That was the first I attended ...I was in Hawaii in `79 and didn't even hear about the 10th ...although, I've heard some interesting stories about it.  And, although the BUMs Y2K All Classes extravangaza was the ultimate in many ways, I'll never forget our 20th!

For the 20th, we had a sit-down dinner and reception at the Hilton ...that was okay; but the picnic at Flat Rock Park the next day was unsurpassed!!!  Probably the thing that stood out the most was seeing Janie Smith.  Although I didn't know her all that well in school, I remembered recognizing her immediately ...hadn't changed a bit after 20 years ...and she was a grandmother!  My oldest was only two-and-a-half at the time and my next (and youngest) was still in the oven ...didn't pop out `til that November.  There were many others, too.  And Sue Welch told me that the picnic was put together at the last minute ...with hardly any planning ...my hat's off who all that put it together.

Now, I'm hoping for an even better -- and more memorable -- 40th!  Come on `69ers ...help Julie get the message out so we can reconnect and have a great time.  In addition to Bobby Wilson, I understand from Don Adkins that a couple of other "Bobby's" (check the class list in Lion Profiles for clues) from our class plan to be there (I guess Robert was a popular name for boys back in `51!) .   We're looking to see names like Cheryl, Sue/Susan, Julie, Abby, Jim, Terry, Rodney, Dianne and Rock on the initial attendee list.... and hope to see it grow.  It'd be great to see other names added to the list, like Kathy/Katy, Jeanne, Jeff, Dale, Mike, Joanie, Pat, Becky, Gary, Jan, Criss, Clarence, Keith, Kevin, Tina, H.J., Charlie, Linda, Shirley, Teresa, Ron, Nancy, Wayne, Acy  ...and I can't leave out Janie, plus so many others.

We have a block of 29 rooms on hold for us at Red Top Mountain Park until June 1st.  If you want to reserve one of them, leave a message for me, Susan or Julie and we'll send you a form to use for that very purpose.   After June 1st, any rooms not taken will be released to the public; and summer weekend accommodations at the lake go very fast!  Get `em while they're hot.  And, if you have email addresses to help Julie reach out to others, be sure to pass that info to her by leaving a message at her profile site.

Looking forward to seeing a lot of Lions at Cooks later this month, and `69 Lions at Red Top.

I have a file on my computer from the 2004 all class reunion that contains approximately 124 names with addresses, some phone numbers and some email addresses. I obtained this file from Sylvia Head who is the President of the Baker High School Alumni Association. I am the Associations Vice President. I am not the most literate person when it comes to computers but if I had your email address I could send you the entire file and you could go through it and pull out the class of 1969 info. I have not looked at the entire file but I believe there is also a section that contains a list of deceased classmates from all classes circa 2004. I looked at the file two weeks ago and sent out 31 invitations to some classmates of mine, BHS 70, who had not joined the BakerLionspride web site ( www.BakerLionspride.com ) and within 3 days 15 of them had registered on the website so some of the email adreeses on the 1969 portion of the classlist are probably still good. Anyway I will be more than happy to send you this file. I really think it will help you in finding some of your lost classmates. If you do want me to send it to you please respond to my home email address: jtcrimmel@knology.net. Please take care, John Crimmel BHS70
