Allan L Watley

Alan Watley
February 25, 1954 - February 11, 2022
Hatchechubbee, Alabama

Allan Lamar Watley, 67, of Hatchechubbee, Alabama, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, 11:00am February 16, 2022 at Parkhill Cemetery Columbus, Georgia with Pastor Jay Bailey officiating.

Born on February 25, 1954, he was the son of the late James Stanley Watley and Lou Edith Simmons Watley. Allan graduated from Baker High School in 1972, where he played tight end for the Baker Lions football team. He was the owner and operator of Keep Kleen Linen Service in Phenix City, Alabama. Allan enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and spending time at the “hunting land” with his hunting buddies. He always had a project going around his home, loved Georgia football, banana pudding and cornbread. But most of all, he loved his family, spending time with them, and doing whatever he could for them. He was so proud of his sons and grandsons and loved supporting them in any way. Allan will be missed dearly by his family and friends!

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers; Billy Watley and Bobby Watley and his sister Brenda Watley Mathis.

Those left to cherish his memories are his two sons, Brian Watley (Jennifer) and Kyle Watley (Megan); three grandsons, Jacob Watley, Josh Haines (Hope), and Logan Smith; three sisters, Dottie Hatchell (Mike), Linda Sanders (Richard), and Gloria Powell (Dennis); his two dogs Lucky and Aussie; and a host of extended family and friends.

Awww, Allan... I will miss you lots and am so sorry you were called home so early. You and I had a fuss and fight kinda friendship with some chuckles and smiles mixed in. You dated and eventually married my forever best friend Susan. Might have been where some of the fussing came in. :> RIP Allan!
