Letter from Bloomwoods Flowers & Gifts:

It is with great sadness we share the loss of one of our own.

David Nelson, the owner's husband, passed away due to Covid. He spent 30 days at Northside fighting for his life.
The store will close at noon Thursday so the staff can attend the visitation scheduled for 5:00-7:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. The team is handling any flowers or plant orders placed for David. He loved tropical flowers and foliage. Please order as early as you can so the staff may handle this for the service. Kim is not up to receiving visitors or phone calls at this time. You can drop off a card or send a message on social media.
The original business named after Kim, Kimberly Nelson Floral Designs, was started with David's encouragement.
He set up a workshop for her in their garage in 2002. After each few years it would grow and they would expand. They moved to Phenix City to be able to build a larger workshop outside of their home.
She worked from this space until 2012, then moved to The Landings and renamed the business to Bloomwoods. They moved again in 2017 to their current location on Rollins Way.
Kim has always foraged flowers and foliage from their home landscape. She had hopes of growing much more at their current home in Phenix City.
She tried starting her own flower farm in 2013 but the landscaping company they use accidently destroyed that dream killing all of the seedlings she started.
She has been trying again since 2020 to restart the flower farm when Covid hit but Kim learned she had heart disease. She is living well with it and taking it slow. She hopes next year this will keep her busy as she tries yet again to grow this dream.
Kim and David have a 16 year old son Trace who attends Calvary Christian.
They have been members of Cascade Hills since 2001.

You are my brother in spirit and soul since we have the same birthday as we've always known.  Each year a 'Happy Birthday Sis' will be greatly missed.  It breaks my heart to lose you but you did not go alone.  For part of me went with you on the day God called you home.

Forever in my heart.

Of course, so sorry for your family to learn of your passing on FaceBook back in Oct 2021. Strange how things in the past remind us of things today, you went to Baker, I went to Baker, you worked at Sol Lobe, I worked at Sol Lobe, you worked at Aflac It, I worked at Aflac It. I also remember chatting with you on several case documents for cycle schedule changes, see you soon brother in Christ when my day comes, Virgil
