I saw Desse the day before he was killed in an car accident. He was in Columbus (if my memory serves me correct)on spring break from college visiting relatives.His parents and sister were living in Germany at the time. He came by my parents home for a visit before heading back to school the next day. I was preparing to leave for Okinawa in a few weeks to join my husband. We spent a nice day catching up on what everyone was doing since graduation. Remembering all the crazy late night grave yard stunts the gang pulled on each other. As we said our good-byes and well wishes for the future...promising to keep in touch..not knowing that fate would deal an awful blow the next day. He was funny, kind , bright and a true friend.
