Diana and I spent several years together, dancing ballet at the Springer Opera House. Our mothers carpooled/took turns shuffling us downtown twice a week for classes, and then nightly when we had productions.

She and I would ramble around during dress rehearsals, killing time until our stage time. It was 3 stories high, and had literally 2 floors of eerie, dark spaces with old theater props.

When I was 12, she was 11, we were in the Nutcracker---we were running around in giant mouse costumes that looked pretty realistic. There was a back stairwell that we found...opened it---it ended up in a corner bar off the side street. It was about 4 pm. You should have seen the look on that drunken guy at the bar's face, when 2 giant "rats" opened that door, freaked out, and hauled ass out of there!

Remembering that day with her, always makes me smile.

Peggy Welch

P.S. Hope that guy is alright today too.

Went with Diana & Helen (mom)to Calloway Gardens in March of 1990 to bike, take a trip through the butterfly house, lots of gardens, etc., lots of other trails & meals. She loved her family (brothers) , Betsy L., Belinda Y. & Sunshine (Linda...Y?) & her little white dog....she loved spending time in the sun & on the beach.... she loved the 10 yr. reunion in '87 with so many friends as well...

Diana always had her birthday on New Years Eve, boy do I remeber the last one I went too. All the crowd was there we were still in Baker and man was I ever tore up. God Bless the youthful days we all endured. Each year I would call her at midnight on her birthday and wish her the best. She will always be a class act. We love and miss ya Diana.

Diana...............It has been 19 years now that you left this earth and you are still in the hearts of many who knew you. The fun loving attitude that you had and the "fun" that you so dearly love to have. Yep....I remember you sharing the "Rat" story with me in study hall oneday. We laughed so hard everyday for several days at the look you described that drunk man had when he saw you and another friend dressed up in those customs. I wish I could of been there to see it as well, bet that man never consider drinking a drop of booze again........cause the giant rats were coming to get him!LOL!! What a laugh! Your not with us face to face, my friend, but in our hearts forever. Someday my friend!
God bless the family members always!

I will never forget coming home from the Navy to visit.  I drove to Diana's house not knowing what has happened to her.  Her mom answered the door and filled me in . I was blown away I could not believe it.  I remember going to Panama City and sharing a room with her, we got a little sun burned that trip.  I remember her camero her brothers gave her, we went to see YES in Atlanta.  I always thought she was so pretty. I regret not making any of the reunions.

You never know the last time you see someone it may really be the last time, make it count.

I remember Diana being one of my favorite girl friends of all time!  We had so much fun together, while she was in 6th grade and I was in Junior High.  She was very lovely in so many ways!  I remember her mom and how she would make Shrimp Chowder for me.   I am sorry that I waited so long to post this as I just found out.    Barry Duke

Diana Poole and I grew up on the same street for yrs. very shocked to find this out. My heart goes out to the family. There were 5 of us girls that hung out. We had so much fun. There was me (Becky Hayes) Pam Lancaster,Margie Dompey, Thersa Rucker and Barbie Lohrmann (RIP)  It brakes my heart. I can only hope that they are up thier together looking down on all the fun times we all had together. I think Diana was the only one of us that had any since and stayed outta trouble. (RIP) She was loved by many. Big hugs to the family and my deepest sympathies.
