Jimmy is right. Gwen was a dear friend to both of us. That was a horrible night..started out inocently at the sock hop at Baker, and ended in tragedy that night at the "Haunted House" on Summerville road in November,66. I still have the article from the Columbus Ledger. I remain good friends with her mom and dad to this day and they are wonderful people.

Gwen sat next to me in 2 classes. To this day I still remember staring at her empty desk after that terrible accident. God Bless that pretty girl.

Yes, it was sad to loose a classmate. I lived in Oakland Park and rode the bus with Gwen. I have a scrapbook that has the article about the accident. I still am reminded of her. I work as a substitute teacher and when I hear of risky, silly teenage behaviour it always brings back her memory.
Love you always,

My most vivid memory of Gwen is when we used to skip school and go to the Holiday Inn on Victory Drive to go swimming. My future brother-in-law, Larry Foley's father managed the hotel, and a bunch of us would take off for a fun day at the pool. Gwen was a good friend, and a ball to be around. I think about her often, and just wanted to share this memory of her with you.

Gwen was a couple of years younger than I but our dads were station in Ft Richardson, Alaska at the same time and she became friends with my brothers Charles & Eddie Carwile & myself. I remember the shock of hearing that she had been killed.
