Ruth "Kathleen" (King) Meadows, 88, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on May 29, 2017. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Striffler-Hamby, Columbus. Graveside services will be held Thursday, June, 1, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Parkhill Cemetery.

Kathleen was born on Monday, June 25, 1928 to Lonzo B. King and Henrietta Duke King of Bowdon, Georgia. She is a high school graduate and attended Baker High School. After high school, she was employed at the Muscogee Mill office. On November 22, 1952, she married Robert Campbell Meadows, Sr. at Linwood Baptist Church. Together they had four daughters and one son. Kathleen's greatest joy and number one priority was her family. After raising her children and helping immensely with her grandchildren, she served the community for over two decades as an Avon Representative. She was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Other than her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers. Survivors include her loving husband of 64 years, Robert Campbell Meadows, Sr.; four daughters, Jayne Govar of Columbus, Teresa (Bobby) Murdock of Columbus, Karen Armstrong of Columbus, Tammy Condrey of Columbus; one son, Bobby Meadows of Thomasville; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
