Columbus, GA- Carolyn "Kay" Quarterman, 40, of 1911 5th Ave, Columbus, GA passed February 11, 2014 at Midtown Medical Center, Columbus, GA.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. EST, Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Friendship Baptist Church, Columbus, GA, Rev. Emmett Aniton, pastor, Minister Lamar Strum officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation is today from 3 - 8 p. m. according to Taylor Funeral Home, Inc.
Ms. Quarterman was born May 21, 1973 in Columbus, Ga to William L. Quarterman, III and the late Minnie Holmes Williams. She was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church and a faithful servant of the Hamilton House Nursing Home Ministry. She was a 1991 graduate of Baker High School and attended Troy University.
Surviors other than her father include one daughter, Micheala Quarterman of Columbus, GA; one brother, William (Shaun) Quarterman, IV of Powder Springs, GA; two sisters, Dianne Ochoa of Duluth, GA and Cheryl Quarterman of Doraville, GA and a host of other relatives and friends.

I am so saddened to hear that another Lion has passed away. She was in the graduating class after me, but what caught my eye and my heart was the fact that we are the same age. I know that shouldn't matter, but it is a reminder that life is short. I pray for her and her family.
