Joy Pritchett Shierling

Fortson, Georgia- Joy Pritchett Shierling, age 82, resident of Fortson, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016 at her residence. 

Memorial Services are scheduled at Evangel Temple Assembly of God Church on Saturday, November 26, 2016, 10 a.m. with Reverend Paul Thomas and Reverend Bud Rupel officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby, Columbus. The family will receive friends immediately after the service on Saturday, November 26, 2016. 

Mrs. Shierling, daughter of the late Henry Bascom Pritchett and Ina Mae Brannon Pritchett, was born July 16, 1934 in Columbus. She worked in the family business at Pritchett's Kitchenette for many years, was a member of Evangel Temple, and served Assemblies of God Marriage Encounter with Jimmy for over 20 years.

Mrs. Shierling was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman Pritchett and Gene Pritchett and a sister, Virginia Pritchett. She is survived by the love of her life, her devoted husband of 63 years, Jimmy Shierling of Fortson, Georgia; two daughters, Gail Gill of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Beth Bennett of Fortson, Georgia; one son, Jim (Regina) Shierling of Plant City, Florida; five grandchildren, Rachel, Alicia, Chris (Keri), Steven (Skyler), and Samantha (Evan); eleven great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
