I had the honor of working with Winifred after Baker at South Girard School. She was an excellent teacher and a wonderful friend. Her life made an impact on many young children and she will always be in out hearts!
I knew Winifred way back in the 6th Grade at Southern Jr High and I was in all of her classes up until we both got to Baker. Even back then in Junior High she was always pleasant and cheerful. She was always one of the smartest kids in every one of her classes and getting As seemed easier for her than for most others. I used to see her around at Baker and her personality had remained the same ... pleasant, cheerful and an excellent student. Her passion must have been Music because she studied Band Music nonstop for seven years (6th Grade through 12th Grade).
We will all see her again in that "big classroom" up in the sky. Until then ... Rest in Peace.
i remember Winnie. She was so much fun. i hate to hear that she has pass on. i will go back and look at her in the year book. I am sure i will start to remember more about her. Rest well baby.
I knew Winifred way back in the 6th Grade at Southern Jr High and I was in all of her classes up until we both got to Baker. She was an Angel and she is truly missed.
Winifred and I were members of the "Marching Lions" under the direction of Mr Grantham. As a freshmen I was in awe of her leadership and and sense of humor. I remeber the impression she, Yolanda and Beverly made on me as a young freshmen and I have always cheerished that experince.
I will never forget my good friend Winifred. We had many of good times together. My thoughts of her will always make me smile and her smiling face still lives on in my heart.
