Ann Roney was a beautiful person and devoted friend as well as big sister to her little
brother Sammy whom she spoiled incessantly. Her Mother worked hard for her family
as a hair stylist. Ann was mature and sophisticated beyond her years and in our
senior year we seemed to have outgrown what was the expected norm. After
graduation, she worked on the Post in a civil service job and did exceptionally well.
She met her husband, Bill, and they were married a few years after our graduation.
I only saw her once after she married and I remember her telling me they were moving
to the Virginia area. Later I believe she wrote to me that they had a beautiful home and
small children. My parents loved Ann very much and she spent most of her time at my
house after I had left for college. She was my Maid of Honor in my wedding. Upon moving to California, I lost track and communication but I believe she was writing to my Mom who had
moved to Fla. with Dad in retirement. She left us way too early. I pray her children know just
how beautiful a mother they had and how all of us loved her so dearly. I am sure they have
her same traits of kindness, gentleness and maturity with sophisticated elegance that made her move like a queen when she entered a room. She is still above us all.
I miss her so and have her picture at the Senior Prom on my family wall in my home. She
