COLUMBUS, GEORGIA- Mrs. Melba Brown Sasser, age 67, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2011. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at the Chapel of the Pines in Parkhill Cemetery at 1:00 PM, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd., Columbus, GA.
Mrs. Sasser was born on February 8, 1944 to the late William C. Brown and Myrtle L. Brown in Montezuma, GA. She was retired from GMAC after 32 years of service. Mrs. Sasser enjoyed quilting and many other crafts.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Sasser of Catuala; her mother, Myrtle L. Brown of Columbus; three children, Todd Sasser of Columbus, Vicki Peavy of Jacksonville, FL and Kristina Carpenter of Waverly Hall; four grandchildren, Mia, Nicholas, Jackson and Christopher; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill Brown and a sister, Karen Burnette.
