Allen Thomas “Tommy” Davis, Jr., 72, of Columbus, GA died Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Parkhill Cemetery4161 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Mr. Jerry Scarborough officiating. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Mr. Davis was born September 29, 1944 in Dothan, AL son of the late Allen Thomas Davis, Sr. and Ruby Horne Davis. He was the founder and President of Davis Electrical Service & Contracting Co., Inc., Columbus, Georgia since 1972. Both of his boys have worked with him most of their adult life. Mr. Davis was awarded Best Minority Business Award for Small Business in 2010.

He was very proud of his Native American Heritage. He served in VietNam from 1966 - 1967 with the Navy CB's Unit MCB62 and received 3 medals and a letter of commendation for seeing and reporting exact location of enemy fire, saving many lives.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, loved by all who knew him and respected for all of his life accomplishments. He will always be remembered for his "quick wit" and his love for so many family and friends.

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Betty H. Davis, sons, Heath Davis (Brittany) and Brian Davis (Mari), brothers, Craig Davis and Earnest Davis all of Columbus, GA, sister, Delwanda Thurman of Waverly Hall, GA and granddaughter, Jadyn Davis.
