Michael Reed Shirley September 27, 1946 - September 11, 2009 DE QUEEN, AR — Mr. Michael (Mike) Reed Shirley, 62, a resident of De Queen, a former resident of Texarkana, AR died Friday, September 11, 2009 at his home. He was born to Artis and Hazel Chinn Shirley at Fredericksburg, Virginia, on September 27, 1946. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and retired from the Red River Army Depot, where he was an analyst specialist. Mr. Shirley graduated from Baker High School and attended Columbus College. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, James Timothy Shirley, and his first wife, Nancy Louise Shirley. He is survived by his wife, Joye Lee Miller Shirley of De Queen; a son, Ronald Artis Shirley of Texarkana, AR; a daughter and son-in-law, Abigail and Chris Wheeler of Oden, AR; one grandchild, Morgan Shirley; a step-son, John Michael and his wife, LeeAnn Miller of De Queen; two step-daughters, Sherri and her husband, Bo Frachiseur of Wickers, AR and Elizabeth and her husband, Tom Gavigan of Chicago, IL; 12 step-grandchildren; and one brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Kay Shirley of Russell County, AL. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 2009 in Rondo Memorial Park, Texarkana, AR, With Bro.
