George Malaybalay Sabordo

 Date of death - 6 August 2000

My brothers, George and Roger, are deceased. Roger (class of '73) died in 1993, and George (class of '72)  died in 2000. They are still loved and missed by many, but especially by their little sister, who has so many precious memories of their time together in New York, Tallahassee, and Atlanta.  -- Rosalie Sabordo BHS '76

Sorry to hear about your brother George passing away. I Marixa Alicea was the Puerto Rican girl who lived across the street from your family on Calhoun Drive. Your parents and siblings were always a joy to know. I knew your brother Roger and your sister Shirley and your oldest brother Jr who managed the KMart on Airport Thruway in Columbus. I wish you the best.

I can close my eyes at any moment of the day and hear my younger brother Georgie call out my name. For his 30th birthday he bought plane tickets for me & Shirley to hang with he and Roger in NYC. We had the best time of our lives! Just the 4 of us - laughing and playing like little kids again in the city that never sleeps.

He was an extremely talented dancer. The first time I saw him on stage, I cried my heart out. He graduated from Florida State with a degree in International Relations and a minor in dance. Then he complete John Marshall Law School in Atlanta.

God bless you "Sabordo" family! Everyone knew All of you folks at BHS. The beauty of all us military teenagers coming together at the best high school in town....Roar Lions roar; we had a mixture of all kids of folks. Your family did have their talents cut out for them, from Hawaiian dancing to street dancing.....O yes I remember. At school sock-hops at how George, Ramon and all you Sabordo kids just made the dance come to life for everybody!! Those that were afraid to make that first move was tenderly and yet boldly brought to life because your family brother and sisters made it happen. I will always be so thankful for their & your sharing with us at BHS. I even came across a Phenix news clipping of Ramon Sabordo doing a street dance over here in Phenix City, Al a couple years ago with a bunch of people. You know .....Rosalie..the "dance of life" it is in your blood line! God bless you all always. Hope to see you at the next reunion along with some of your living family members!
