Dansby Douglas Thornton September 6, 1958 - September 2, 2009 COLUMBUS, GA— Mr. Dansby Douglas Thornton, 50, of 3121 Wise St. Columbus died Wednesday, September 2, 2009 in Ft. Benning, GA. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 5, 2009 at Sconiers Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Hawthorne Reed will officiate and burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Visitation will be today from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., according to Sconiers Funeral Home, 836 5th Ave. Columbus. Mr. Thornton was born September 6, 1958 in Columbus, GA, the son of Deloris Thornton Baines, he was a former employee of Hugh-McMath Construction Company. He attended Baker High School. Survivors incude two daughters, Jessica Thornton and Lashonda Mays; mother, Deloris Baines; a brother, Arnold L. (Michelle) Baines; a sister, Bonita Baines; grandmother, Okaree Maddox; six grandchildren; and other relatives.
