It is with a heavy heart to announce we have lost another lion. Joan Humphrey Hobbs, Class of 72 passed away Wednesday, Sept 28,2011 at St Francis Hospital Columbus, Ga. of heart failure. She was 57. Visitation is scheduled for Friday Sept 30,2011 at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus GA. Funeral home website should post times and details later today. A grave side service is planned for Saturday (not sure yet if at Parkhill or Riverdale cemetary). Columbus, GA- Joan H. Hobbs, 57, of Columbus died Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Parkhill Cemetery with Pastor John Garrett officiating. The visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.
Mrs. Hobbs was born March 1, 1954 in Phenix City, AL daughter of the late Myrtice Cox Humphrey and Nolan Humphrey. She was a homemaker and a member of Day Spring Community Church.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, James Ronald Humphrey.
Survivors include her husband, Allen Hobbs of Columbus, GA; sons, Jeremy Hobbs and Keith Hobbs (Kasey) all of Columbus, GA; sister, Joyce Burks of Warren, AK and three grandchildren, Kaleb, Jakeb and Logen.

Martha Shockey (1972)

I am heartbroken to hear of Joan's death. We grew up together along with Mickey Garlen Duke and played many hours together in the backyard and in our little neighborhood the way kids used to play.
