Harvey William Wright died of oral cancer on 22 October 2012 at the age of 78. He lived in Surprise, AZ. He was survived by his wife Norma, daughters Georgia Danenhauer and Peggy Wright, 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren. Brother John Leonard Wright, Jacquenetta (Jacquee)Wright, Judith Ann Evans-Wright, Linda Lee Wright.

He did not graduate from Baker because he joined the Navy at age 16 in 1950 during the Korean Conflict. He served 3 years 3 months and 22 days -  most of the time on board the USS Orleck, a destroyer on which he served as a Gunners Mate. He worked hard for his church to acquire classroom for their Christian school. He was able to see those buildings finished before he passed away. A memorial flag has been placed in his memory at the school campus.
