Dunwoody, Georgia- Mr. Johnnie Ray "John" Camp 88 of Dunwoody, Georgia formerly of Columbus, Georiga died Tuesday, March 22, 2011 @ Plantation South, Dunwoody, Georgia. Funeral Services will be held 11 am Saturday, March 26, 2011 @ St. Benedict The Moor Catholic Church with Father Donatus C. Mgbcajuo, esp. officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens according to Sconiers Funeral Home 836 5th Ave. Columbus, Ga. A rosary will be said @ 12 Noon, Visitation will be 12-7pm today at the funeral home. Mr. Camp was born January 31, 1923 in Forrest City, N.C;, the son of the late Benjamin Camp and Annie McIntyre Camp. He retired from the Muscogee County School District, as a High School Administrator for Spencer High School and Baker High School. Mr Camp was a North Carolina AT&T College and its Alumni Club. He also was a member of Ft. Valley State University Alumni Club. He was member of the Moderns Club and a member of St. Benedict The Moor Catholic Church. Mr. Camp was married to the late Delores Washington Camp and to this union two sons were born. He was also married to the late Thlema Cobb Baskin Camp. Survivors who will cherish his memories include two loving and devoted sons, Johnnie R. Camp, Jr. (Lisa) of Stone Mountain, Ga. and Earl Camp (Angie) of Alpharetta, Ga;, three sisters, Rubena Mallory of Greensboro, N.C;, Rosetta Moseley of Newport News, VA;, and Ruby Wilson of Richland, VA;, two grandchildren, Ethan Camp and Elan Camp. nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
