Sarge, as he was known to those involved in ROTC, was the NCOIC of the ROTC unit for the 1966-67 school year. It is my understanding that his death was unexpected and that he passed away in his sleep. I had just seen him while on a visit to Columbus in December and he hadn't mentioned any health issues. He had retired from the Army and opened a store called Leather by LaRue. His shop was just outside Kirven's in Columbus Square.
