 March 30, 1939 - September 15, 2015
 Upatoi, GA

Jimmy L. Watson of Upatoi, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at his home. He was 76 years old. Jimmy was born on March 30, 1939 in Columbus, Georgia to Ollie James Watson and Lula Eldora Watson (Foster). He graduated in 1957 from Baker High School where he met the love of his life Charlotte Watson (Brooks). Jimmy was a great man. Great in his faith, and great in his love. Friends and family will remember a man who worked hard his entire life, often working two or three jobs at a time. He retired from the Columbus Fire Department after 27 years of service. We will also celebrate the life of a man who enjoyed nothing more than to be out fishing, eating boiled peanuts while watching Braves' baseball, and who may be the University of Alabama's greatest football fan. Jimmy was a deeply beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Charlotte Watson; his children, Kathy Andrews and husband Lester of Upatoi, Keith Watson and wife Kim of Columbus, Kevin Watson and wife Vickie of Columbus; grandchildren, Timothy Andrews and wife Hailey, Matthew Andrews and wife Melisa, Michael Andrews and wife Nazarea, April Watson (Brian Andrade), David Watson, Dylon Watson, Trey Watson, Zach Watson, Jewel Watson, James Elliott; great-grandchildren, Serena, Joe, Emmy, Evie, Elle, Ali, Brooks, Whitley, Olivia, and Layton; brother, Billy Watson and wife Shirley of Columbus, sister-in-law, Emily Moore and husband Pete of Columbus; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog Bear. He is predeceased by his brother, Don Watson. Thanks be to God for blessing us with this man. Work hard in everything you do, but love more. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 18, 2015 at 11:00 am, in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby 4071 Macon Road Columbus, GA. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm, on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are the Columbus Fire Department. Flowers and online condolences may be offered at www.shcolumbus.com
