Euel Gene "Pete" Morrison, age 72, resident of Columbus, died on January 5, 2011 at Columbus Hospice House.
Private memorial services will be held by the family at a later date, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus.
Mr. Morrison, son of the late Euel C. Morrison and Arrie Cutchen Morrison, was born March 21, 1938 in Enterprise, AL. He was a graduate of Baker High School and later received his Bachelors Degree from Auburn University. Mr. Morrison served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was an Accountant for Ernst and Ernst and also the Bradley Co. with over 20 years of faithful service. Mr. Morrison later owned Citizens Jewelry and Pawn in downtown Columbus for approximately ten years.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Gloria Morrison of Columbus; two daughters, Tina Gordon and her husband David of Columbus and Kathy Jones and her husband Colin of Mundelein, IL; one son, Cliff Morrison of Atlanta, GA; one grandson, Blake Gordon of Columbus; other relatives and friends.
