In Memory

Joseph Watson Goodson - Class Of 1955

Joe passed away the weekend of 7/29/12 after a year long battle with Mesothelioma. His ashes were distributed across the Gulf of Mexico by his wife Shirley and daughter Tracy in St. Pete where he loved to fish for the last 27 years.

Our Mom, Mildred Goodson taught at Baker and Joe played on the football team and remembered his years there fondly.

I am putting together a memorial booklet of Joe's experiences and would welcome contributions any of you may wish to offer for inclusion, let us know who you are, how you knew Joe and what your memory of him was so we may include it in the memory book. Photo scans would also be welcome.
Thanks
Lee Goodson (Joe's brother)

Posted 18 August 2012:

We have a memorial service planned for Joe Goodson (Class of 55) at our parents graveside at New Memorial Gardens of Park Hill Cemetary;  2:00 pm on Saturday; September 1st. All are welcome who wish to attend.

Instead of flowers, the family is raising funds to install a memorial plaque at the gravesite for Joe. If you'd like to participate, send donations to the Joseph Watson Goodson Memorial Fund, PO Box 5796, Destin, FL 32540. As you know, his wish was to be distributed over the Gulf of Mexico where he fished and just to have a plaque erected at the family plots where he can be remembered.

Thanks, Lee Goodson & Family

To Shirley, Tracey, and Lee; I am so sorry to learn of Joe's passing.  Joe,Warren Smith and I were in first grade together at Tillinghurst Elem. School, I think   -  If not first grade, we went to school together for severall years. Speaking on behalf of our Class of "55, we appreciate those years in  school with Joe and also when you attended our reunions.  I have passed this sad news on to our other classmates and our sincere sympathies are extended to you. We are thankful to have known Joe.  Sincerely  Sylvia Booth Crawford.
