Columbus, GA- Mr. Windell J. Thompson of Columbus, died Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Coliseum Medical Center in Macon, GA. He was 55 years old and resided at 4652 Toney Drive.
Born in Ft. Benning, GA on June 16, 1958, Mr. Thompson was the son of Curtis James and Louise Chambers Thompson. He was a 1976 graduate of Baker High School and a member of Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church and its Music Ministry. He was the Minister of Music at True Divine Baptist Church in Phenix City, AL and was also a Tailor at Sunray Cleaners.
Surviving other than his parents are a sister, Lynne Gaddy; a niece, Ariel Gaddy; one aunt, Mildred Chambers; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Mr. Thompson will be laid to rest at Green Acres Cemetery on Tuesday at a 11 O'Clock Homegoing Celebration at the Chapel of Progressive Funeral Home, Inc. Pastor Johnny Flakes III will officiate and Pastor Curtis Buford will deliver the Eulogy. Visitation is 2 til 6:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. The cortege will depart from the residence Tuesday at 10:30 A.M. Arrangements entrusted to Progressive Funeral Home, Inc. "A Touch of Dignity For Those Who Care."
