Columbus, GA- Mrs. Teresa Ann Royal McConnell of Columbus passed Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at the Columbus Regional Medical Center. She was 46 years old and resided at 5544 Chatham Woods Drive.
The daughter of Mrs. Peggy Royal of Columbus and the late Jack Baldwin, Mrs. McConnell was born in Richland, GA on May 6, 1965. She was a 1983 graduate of Baker High School and received an Associates degree from Meadows College. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Brooklyn, GA and was employed with Civil Services, Ft. Gillum, GA for over 26 years. She was currently serving as Chief of Human Resources.
Survivors include, other than her mother, her husband, Glennie McConnell, Jr.; two sons, Trent J. McConnell and Justin T. McConnell; two sisters, Jeanette Royal (Michael) and Lisa Drew (Clifford); an aunt, Eutha Royal; five sisters-in-law, Susan A. Taylor, Ida M. Cox, Gracie L. McConnell, Rosemary Boykin and Shirley McConnell; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Homegoing Services for Mrs. McConnell will be held Saturday, 11:00 am at the Chapel of Progressive Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Paul Milton officiating. The interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery. Visitation is today, 1 until 6:00 pm at the funeral home. The cortege will depart from the residence at 10:30 the day of the service.
