Mr. Casey Jones, Jr. (Sergeant First Class Retired) passed away peacefully Sunday, August 5,2018, at his home. He was 55 years of age.
The beloved son of the late Casey, Sr. and Ethellean Perry Jones, Mr. Jones was born in Haines City, FL. He was obtained his secondary education within the Muscogee County Schools, graduating from Baker High School in 1980. He played football at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and pursued his Bachelors degree from Troy State University. He retired following 21 years of dedicated service with the United States Army, and was currently a Production Manager at Continental Carbon. Mr. Jones was a member of Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, and was a former Prince Hall Mason. He was an avid Miami Dolphins and Florida State Gators fan.
Surviving his departure with cherished memories, include: his wife of 35 years, Mrs. Jennifer Ogletree Jones; two children, Casey "C.J." Jones (Amoni) and Jasmine Jones; a brother, Aaron Jones; two sisters, Charlane Howard (Henry) and Michelle Simpson; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Bertha Ogletree; grandmother-in-law, Mrs. Bertha P. Rooks; a sister-in-law, LaShron Ogletree; a godchild, Kenya Valrie; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Jones will be held Friday, August 10, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church with interment in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Rev. J. H. Flakes III will officiate. Visitation is Thursday, 2 til 6:00 p.m. with an Omega Service at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
