Wow...I am stunned to learn of Rafael's death!  For several years we were in ROTC together and really became friends because of the drill team.  Just a genuinely nice guy.  I never ran into him while in the military, and didn't even know he served 19 years.  Here's to you Rafael!  Never forgotten brother .... never forgotten.

I just saw this on the baker high web page.  My heart is so saddened to hear of the passing of Rafael.  We were great friends in high school and served as student aides to Ms. Reid our senior year.  I ran across Rafael again when he got out of the military and am thankful to have been able to re-unite with him, but again we lost touch.  Jose and family I am so sorry for your loss.

We get so caught up in our own lives we forget to look at whats going on around us.  I too just found out about Rafael.  My heart truly sank.  Like Mark, I became friends with Rafael while on the drill team.  No one could rock a beret like Rafael! Here's one last silent step march for you Rafael.  God bless.
