Sorry , so , v sorry to hear of Kenny's passing !   A true Baker Lion and classmate within the halls of Baker HS!  Kenny and I had an immediate friendship due to the competition between he and I and our GTO's.  One of the true muscle cars of the '60s.  Kenny and I had our fair share car races out on the by pass ( stupid HS stuff) , with Kenny winning most all the races as I would ease up on the gas petal and let Kenny win ( lol ) truth be known , he had a bad ass GTO!!
A witty, funny truthful guy who you enjoyed being around ....Of course I moved on after HS , chasing a professional baseball career , returning to Columbus a few times in the early 70's.  Ran into Kenny at a HS renuinion and shared many a laugh and story of BHS and our GTO's.
Kenny will be missed to all that knew him well and certainly those who knew him occasionally!
RIP Kenny ..

Funny, Kenny and I never knew each other while going to Baker but, man have we been good friends and having fun for the last few years!   He was one of the most intelligent people I have known and I am proud to call him friend.  I have been devastated by his sudden passing. I can see him now in heaven fishing on his boat, playing tennis, teaching history and laughing and telling jokes with Sir Winston Churchill (his fav)!  Godspeed Kenny Marcum.  So glad to have known you.  I will sorely miss you.   Love you man!

I have been trying to think of what I could say about my friendship with Kenny. I remember when Kenny first moved to Columbus he lived right across the steet from me on Hawthorne Drive in Oakland park, we were only 2 weeks apart in age and we became friends right away and were friends all our lives. I could tell so many stories about times spent with my friend ( If you have 55 plus years of story to tell it could take a while ) But I guess the things I hold on to the most are the early years in Oakland park, the many summer days we spent on the banks of the River trying to catch anything that would bite and then watch a small fish turn into a big tale, Then other days pushing lawn mowers around the neighborhood trying to make a little pocket money to spend a night at the movies on main post or a day or two at Putt-Putt on Torch Hill Road. I can also tell you that we were some of the best Wiffle Ball players of all time, we would play from Daylight until Dark and we were the best, we would modify our bats and would even add a little tape to the balls to make them last longer ( it also took a little action out of the ball and made it easier to hit but we will not talk about that ).I hpoe some of these things bring a little memory of Kenny back for you. Kenny was and is my Friend and one day we will have another game together.

So sad that Kenny left us so soon. He was one of the wittiest guys in our class. So glad we got to catch up at a couple of reunions only to learn we had mutual friends through Troy! May Kenny rest in heaven til we all get together again.
