Virginia Elaine (Kelly) Morris

Virginia (Ginger) was the daughter of two very proud parents Colonel Edward J. Kelly and Lois M. Kelly. She attended Baker high School and went on to earn a Masters in Education from the University of Georgia.
She loved teaching and especially loved the children. She taught at several schools during her career but St. Patricks was her one true love and she went on to become the Principal of St. Patricks for 4 years before she joined her loving husband in retirement. Ginger had a heart as big as the world and could see no wrong in anyone or anything. She loved life and in particular, loved searching through antique stores and flea markets and just taking back road rides to nowhere.
She had a love for animals that had no equal. Her pets were her life and she lived each and every day to make their lives better. Over the years she saved dozens of stray, lost and injured animals most of whom went on to live a normal life and have since passed on and now have a permanent place on the hillside behind her house. Ginger was truly a magnificent woman and I'm sure God has a special place in heaven for her.
Ginger had been sick for the past couple of years but continued to wake up each and every morning looking for a better day. Now she has that day and is suffering no longer and had gone home to God to be with her mother and father. She is survived by her husband Retired Major Terry Morris, and her step children Tara Morris and Howard Morris. She will be sorley missed.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. EST Friday February 17, 2017 in Lakewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City with burial to follow at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
