Columbus, GA- Thomas D. Mitchell 66, of 5452 Cranston Drive, Columbus passed Sunday, August 30, 2015 at the Midtown Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Saturday, September 5, 2015 at New Testament Christian Center Church, 2622 Macon Road, Columbus with the Pastor Dr. James A. Lewis, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at Green Acres Cemetery with military honors accorded according to Hill-Watson-People's Funeral Service LLC, 2919 Hamilton Road. Visitation will be, Friday, September 4, 2015 from 1:00PM-7:00PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Mitchell was born May 11, 1949 in Enterprise, AL to the union of the late Mr. Willie and Mary Merritt Mitchell. He was a member and Deacon at New Testament Christian Center Church and a United States Navy Veteran. Deacon Mitchell worked over the years for the Bibb Company, Muscogee County Sheriff's Department, Walmart and Columbus Technical College as a Security Specialist. Deacon Mitchell leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife, Sandra Mitchell; son, Quinton(Ericia)Davis; daughters, Djuana Hill, Emily(Keith)Brown and Michelle Goldwire; brothers, James O.(Wallie) Mitchell and Lenzy Glenn; sister, Yvonne Glenn; grandchildren, Akalia Davis, Alexis Hill, Lamon Davis, Brittany Cato, Taylor Mitchell, Jeremiah Goldwire, Celeste Hill, Tyler Davis, Caleb Fowler, Immanuel Hill, Ariaunna Goldwire and Joshua Hill and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
