Barbara Lynn Hodges, age 66, of Columbus, Georgia passed away unexpectedly on Thursday January 2, 2020. 

Barbara was born April 24, 1953 in Fort Benning, Georgia to Betty Rowan and Allen Burroughs. She was a proud Class of 71 Baker High School Graduate. A Cancer survivor, she retired from AFLAC as a Compliance Analyst II in 2018. Barbara loved caring for all the people close to her. She enjoyed organic gardening, reading, crafting with repurposed materials, weaving and painting. Her love and concern for people, nature and the planet enabled her to overcome her fear of public speaking and allowed her to teach classes at AFLAC about gardening, composting and sustainability. Those who knew and loved Barbara will forever miss her.

Barbara was preceded in death by; her father Allen Burroughs; and sister Deborah Burroughs. She is survived by mother Betty Rowan; her husband of 15 years, Lon Hodges; daughter R Hodges; and daughter Kaitlynn Hardigree; brother Scott Burroughs and sister-in-law Karen Burroughs; niece Sam Jarrett, nephew James Jarrett and great nephew Jace Jarrett.
