Fortson, Georgia - Jennene Farrar Terry, 78, of Fortson, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Columbus Hospice House after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Memorial services will be held Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 5:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia, 31907. Family will receive friends from 4:00 - 5:00 PM preceding the memorial service at the funeral home. Mrs. Terry was born December 2, 1933 in Columbus, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late James Elmer Farrar and Frankie Louise Kite Farrar. Mrs. Terry was also preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter, Lindsey Sara Moore. Mrs. Terry had retired from the Columbus Country Club after many years of service in their bookkeeping department. Mrs. Terry is survived by her four children: Robin and Stan Berry of Alexandria, Virginia; Luann and Wade Moore of Gulf Breeze, Florida; Kelly and Dale Land of Fortson, Georgia; and Jay and Patricia Terry of Hamilton, Georgia. She is also survived by her six grandchildren that she loved without reservation: Farrar Brown (Cary) of Valdosta, Georgia; James Ian Wallner (Kimberly) of Washington, DC; Tito Terry of Columbus, Georgia; Nicky Terry of Hamilton, Georgia; Clint Land of Fortson, Georgia; and Casey Moore of Gulf Breeze, Florida. Mrs. Terry is survived by three great grandchildren: Bryan Terry of Hamilton, Georgia; Ada Brown of Valdosta, Georgia; and Graham Wallner of Washington, DC. She is survived by her sister, Joyce Molton of LaGrange, Georgia and her four nieces and nephew: Jane Moman (Chips) of LaGrange, Georgia; Danny Thomas of Polaris, Montana, Jenny Brettelle (Rick) of Fortson, Georgia; and Jody Wilson (Frank) of Fortson, Georgia. She is also survived by her cousin, David Kite (Jenny) of Columbus, Georgia. Jennene is survived by her most loved companion, John Sanders of Phenix City, Alabama In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Columbus Hospice House, 7020 Moon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31909, in memory of Jennene Terry.
