Robert C. Clark, Jr. April 30, 1935 - September 5, 2009 PHENIX CITY, AL — Robert (Bob) C. Clark, Jr., 74, of Phenix City, AL passed away Saturday, September 5, 2009 at Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital in Phenix City, AL. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. EST Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Vance Memorial Chapel, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Danny Courtney officiating. Interment will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Clark was born April 30, 1935 in Baxley, GA, son of the late Robert C. Clark, Sr. and Sarah Googe Clark. He was a graduate from both Baker High School and North Georgia College. Mr. Clark served his country in the United States Army, where he was a Lieutenant in the 9th Calvary, 24 Infantry Division. He retired from the insurance industry, where he won numerous awards. Mr. Clark was also a member of Bethel Tabernacle Assembly of God. Other than his parents, Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his brother, James Clark. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Clark of Phenix City, AL; two sons, Michael B. Clark and wife, Leonia of Smithville, VA and Gregory G. Clark and wife, Jenny of Woodstock, GA; two sisters, Ann Clark Morrison of Columbus, GA and Dorothy (Dot) Baker and husband, Dr. Al Baker of Chicago, IL; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Autumn, Jessica, Megan and Daniel; two great-grandchildren, Madison and Delaney. Mr. Clark loved playing the trumpet and delighted in his grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He knew God and was a Christian. Mr. Clark will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
