Tomps Summerhill Gray - Class Of 1962 VIEW PROFILE

Tomps Summerhill Gray

Date of death - 28 January 2010 from complications of knee replacement surgery

After doing some online research I found the following obituary regarding Tomps passing.  I found it very interesting and sad that I had to "catch-up with Tomps life this way after graduating together at BHS.  When I talked to him last year he was so excited to hear from me and so much wanted to make the last gathering we had.  Obviously....that did not happen.  I would have loved to hear some of his life stories.  Rest in peace my brother....

Rebecca G (Becky) Finley (Striggow) (1965)

He was a heroic football player when I was a freshman at Baker High School. Tomps served under my father, Col. Joe W. Finley, at some point. We met later on at another posting (Ft. Leonard Wood or Izmir, Turkey) We had one date, and I moved shortly after that, either to college or Turkey. The thing about Tomps was that I remembered him all my life as a very articulate, nice, well-mannered , fun, handsome man. After my parents' 23 moves in 28 years (me being there for most of them) I didn't remember many people from the 10 schools I attended. Tomp's picture expressed the personality I remember.I'm sorry fory your loss. He seems to have lived a very rich and full life.  RIP.
