Adis Ray Chesser, 74 of Columbus, Georgia died Wednesday May 3, 2017 at his home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday May 5, 2017 in Lakewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City with burial in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Mr. Chesser was born October 16, 1942 in Columbus, Georgia; son of the late John L. and Ruby Bryant Chesser. He was formerly the owner of the Bonanza Restaurants in Columbus, Ga and Phenix City, Ala. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Patricia Chesser, daughters, Dana Townsend (Rusty), Shelley Coe (Gene Napier) and Jessica Dow Needham (Jason); sisters, Louise Taylor, Susan Daley, Debra Chesser and Shelia Watson, brothers, Neal Chesser, Wendell Chesser, Clayton Chesser, Johnny Chesser and Dale Chesser; grandchildren, Derek Townsend (Brittany), Craig Townsend (Melissa), Caylin Green, Tyler Green (Natalie), Cody Townsend, Austin Walls, Dalton Coe, Brock Hicks, great grandchildren, Connor Minter and Carsyn Townsend.
