Steven Carl Glasbrenner Class of 1970

GLASBRENNER Steven Carl Glasbrenner, 63, passed away Friday, February 28, 2014. Mr. Glasbrenner was a native of Ft. Sheridan, Illinois, had travelled extensively in his lifetime and settled in Jacksonville 30 years ago. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Harley S. and Anna L. Glasbrenner. Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Bronwyn Glasbrenner; four sisters, Maria Helmly (Ron), Frances Pritchert (Jim), Debi Glasbrenner and Michelle Corns (Chris); one brother, Bobby Glasbrenner; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other loving family, dear friends and his four legged children, Harley, Molly, Georgia and Lola. A service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, March 6, in the chapel of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd., with Ron Helmly officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. I always thought of Steve as a close friend.  I will miss him very much.

William Lewis (1971)

Steve and I tipped a few beers together and I remember him as a good guy. Remember once he, Jeff Hartford and myself were headed out for a wild night we stopped at the Krystal's to see who was about and thats when the trouble started. Cops pulled in they got us for dsrinking but somehow old Steve talked them out of taking him on the trip downtown.

Sorry to hear of Stepens passing.  We didn't always agree with each other, but when the chips were down you could always count on him.  Peace be with you brother...I will remember.

I remember Steve from the class of 70. Sad we have lost another classmate and fellow Lion.  Condolences to the Glasbrenner family. Know he will be missed by many~

Larry Strickland (1971)

Sorry to hear about Steve; he was a fun guy to hang around with.  I played football against him and what a bull he was trying to tackle him.
