Robert William Cunningham, age 51, of Lilburn, GA died January 3, 2008 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Anita Delane Wilson Cunningham of Lilburn, GA; Son, Ryan Alexander Cunningham of Lilburn, GA; Daughter, Lauren Kathleen Cunningham of Stone Mountain, GA; Stepson, Edward Michael Dowling, Jr.; and Daughter-in-Law, Amy Arabian Dowling of Salem, AL; Grandsons, Nathaniel Alexander Cunningham, Joshua Patrick McEvoy & Ian James McEvoy all of Stone Mountain, GA. Robert was born at Ft. Dix, NJ on April 2, 1956 and was raised in Columbus, GA. He was the son of the late William Alexander Cunningham of Philadelphia, PA & the late Frances Kathleen Souza Cunningham of Boston, MA. He was a graduate of Columbus State University and Georgia State University. Robert was a broadcaster in both radio and television in the Columbus, GA area for WLTZ-TV, WCGQ radio and WRBL-TV among other stations. Robert was an actor and tech at the Springer Theater in Columbus, GA while in college and had an extensive theatrical resume regionally. Robert was an educator in Muscogee County School District, Chattahoochee Valley Community College and was currently employed as the technology education teacher at Louise Radloff Middle School in the Gwinnett County Public School System. He was honored with numerous education and broadcasting awards. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at 2:00 PM at St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Father Young Nugyen to serve as celebrant. Interment, White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Mike Dowling, Jr., Ryan Cunningham, Bob Hovey, Marcus Sudderth, Dennis Richardson, Richard Cohn, Chris Corbett, and John Goss. Serving as honorary pallbearers, Robert's Brothers-in-Law, Brad Wilson, Jimbo Wilson and Skip Wilson. Also, Robert Brines, Richard Bicknell, Kevin Bicknell, Pete Hart, Jack McElhanney, Keith McEvoy and Chris Ness. Paula Gross (Lamm) (1974)

Sadden to learn about the passing of Robert. He was a sweet young man with a great smile. He never knew a stranger and made everyone feel like they were his friend even if he had just met you.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
