Michael Dansereau (1970)

I first met Buff circa 1976-1977, when we were both inducted into the CSU (then CC) chapter of the national criminal justice honor society.  In 1980, I was hired by the Division of Children and Youth Services, then part of state DFCS.  He was my mentor and taught me the basics of juvenile court intake and probation.  Shortly thereafter, he moved to the Dept. of Corrections, and worked the remainder of his state career as a probation officer in adult courts.  While waiting for our cases to be called, we often "shot the breeze."  I thought highly of Buff.  He and I both "lasted" in our respective jobs to eventually retire with full benefits.  My heartfelt sympathy to his immediate and extended family.

Paul and I were classmates, in high school through college and we later worked together. In college we even roofed houses together for extra cash. While Mike Dansereau and he were being inducted in the honor society I was busy trying to stay off academic probation. After he retired he went to work for a private probation company that worked out where I live, and we would see each other a couple of times a month in court, I last saw him maybe a month before his death. We would always catch up when he came to court and relive our "glory days", The legal community will miss him greatly as was evident by the many court folks in attendance at his service. Continued prayers for his family. And God willing he and a mutual boss we once took turns working for are able to enjoy going to lunch together once again. See you on the other side my friend.
