In Memory

Harold Willis - Class Of 1973 VIEW PROFILE

I have 1 name from the memory unknown I have been thinking about getting
corrected.

He is from the class of 73, we were both good friends during Eddy &
Baker, after school we both were in our first marriages, and just happen
to live in the same apartment complex off of Broadway, for a couple of
years.

I lost touch with Harold after 1980, but was told by a very reliable
source of his death, a few years ago. We are not sure of where the
accident occured.
His name is Harold Lee Willis, DOB: March 25, 1955, he died as a result
of (I believe) injuries from an auto accident. His death was (1994) for
sure. Exact date being: September 1st, 1994, he had lived in Columbus &
Atlanta, GA, and Randleman, NC.
He is listed in the SSDI from the state of NC, I think his father
(Harold J. Willis "ex Military") still lives in the town of Randleman,
NC.
Harold was a good guy, a hard working Carpet installer by trade, and my
friend forever.

Sincerely,

Steve Watkins 73

Cathy Willis (Kerrigan) (1972)

As a former friend of mine, and living in the same neighborhood of Oakland Park, I will always remember Harold. My last name was Willis, and I am almost sure Harold's last name was Wills. I hope that someone will check on that. I was very shocked to hear about his death.
Respectfully,
Cathy (Willis) Kerrigan '72

Harald Karl Wills graduated from Baker in 1973.  You are correct that his name both first and last were often mispelled just as it is here on this site ( I just recently verified all the information with his mother Inga for accuracy).  Harald was born on 1/23/55.  He moved to Columbus in 1965 with his military family and grew up in Oakland Park going to both Eddy and Baker...(his fathers name is Wick and he served in both WWII & Vietnam and they still live in Georgia).  Harald died in an auto accident on 3/20/03 in Harris County.

Harald was a flooring expert by trade.  He could do it all and did!  His talents weren't just limiited to flooring though...he was a jack of all trades carpentry, plumbing, electrical...if it had anything to do with construction he could pretty much do it!  Harald held numerous Black Belts (six I believe) for martial arts!  Harald was truely talented!

Harald did live downtown in an apartment early on... I remember him speaking of the crazy times...He enjoyed there with his friends (he was newly married then).  I believe that is when he started enjoying motorcycles so much.  I also remember Harald taking about living in Lakebottom for many years.  I know that he lived in Harris County for years also.

Harald was truely a wonderful person and I will remember him with love Always & Forever!!!

Harald Wills was a mutual friend of mine and Linda Mellon Bergman's.  I can remember all the fun times we had sitting around the camp fire telling jokes and stories of the crazy days of our youth.

Harald was a kind and gentle soul, there was not anything he couldn't fix or repair or replace, it was his THING.  He always had a big smile and kind word for everyone.  He will be missed by all of us who were lucky enough to have known him.  RIP Harald ... we love and honor you!
