Judy (Smith) A. Dunn

August 16, 1949 - October 19, 2017

Judy A. Dunn, 68 of Columbus, Georgia died Thursday, October 19, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital.

Visitation will be from 1-2:30pm, Monday, October 23, 2017 in the St. Elmo Room of Striffler-Hamby 4071 Macon Road Columbus, GA.

Graveside services will follow in Parkhill Cemetery at 3:00pm, Monday, October 23, 2017.

Mrs. Dunn was born August 16, 1949 in Snow town, Jefferson County, Alabama to the late Bud Smith and Margaret Fortner Smith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Billy E. Smith and a niece Katie Clark. Mrs. Dunn was a 1968 graduate of Baker High School.
Mrs. Dunn was a homemaker. She was united in marriage to Billy Dunn for 23 blissful years. She loved her husband's home cooked meals. She was an avid Braves baseball fan that loved Chipper Jones and Javy Lopez. She loved to go on cruises and go to Biloxi to the casinos with her husband. In her spare time, she loved to read Danielle Steel books. You could often find her at the Bath and Body works store where most of the employees knew her by her first name. She also loved to go to Dairy Queen. She loved both of her granddaughters, Kirstine and Gracen and loved to watch them play softball. Kirstine and Gracen were her world. She loved to have "special" dinners with her daughter, granddaughters and husband. 
Survivors include her husband; Billy W. Dunn, daughter; Jennifer Corbett, two granddaughters; Kirstine Smith and Gracen Corbett, one step son; Nicholas Dunn, three step-sisters; Glinda Sanford, Elaine Brewer and Donna Knowles and several nieces and nephews. One beloved best friend of 25 years, Michelle Valliant that always called Mrs. Dunn "Ju-Ju".

To the family of Judy (Smith) Dunn,

I am so sorry to hear of Judy's passing.  We were close friends back in high school and remember her fondly.  My heartfelt condolences for your loss of a dear beloved daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother and friend to people she has known in the past and present. 

May Judy rest in peace and praying for her repose of her soul.  May God's blessings be upon all of you in the family.  Amen.

Linda Luster (Strickland) (1968)

Was so sorry to read of Judy's passing. She and I were in chorus together. She was a sweet girl and loved to sing.
