Linda, I'm so sorry to hear that Billy has passed away.  We were close Eddie & Baker High friends but after graduation we went our own ways and completely lost contact. I often wondered how he was doing.  Heard that after he left the Navy, he went to medical school and became a Doctor of Radiology. Never heard anything further.  He was a brilliant individual. I hate to know that he's gone at such an early age.  Linda, can you post his obituary?

I still remember Billy sneaking me, Lloyd Abel, Randy Taylor, and John Averye into a drive-in theater in his Dad's Chev Nova.  A couple of us hid in the trunk when we went in.  (And we wouldn't have been cought if Martin hadn't BACKED into the drive-in through the exit!) Ha! Did I mention that we may have visited Brennon Rd. package store before the drive-in?  Seems like we were always into something on the edge - but never anything that anyone would consider bad.  We were just crazy teenagers. (And back then that wasn't a bad thing.)

Junior/Senior prom - Double dated: Billy's date was Casey Hursey and my date was Debbie Smith.  Billy drove us in his new 68 Dodge Charger.  Pretty cool time and pretty cool dates.

My prayers go out to his family - peace and comfort for your loss.

A good guy and a good friend; all those years ago.  RIP Billy; when our "circle of life" is complete we will see you then.

I remember him going back to Eddy Jr. High School and Baker.  He was a good guy.

Linda,

I was so saddened to hear of Billy's passing.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.  I have thought of Billy and talked of Billy over the years.  I always thought I would  surely see him again.

Billy and I were good friends.  We initially bonded our sophomore year in Colonel Mitchell's geometry class.  He sat in front of me because we were arranged alphabetically.  There was nothing worse than coming to class not ready to put a proof on the board if called upon, as many alumni will attest.   Billy and I talked through each of our four problems almost every night,  and if we couldn't figure it out, we called in others.  Billy was definitely the smarter of the two of us.

We were a part of a special group of friends.  I have only the fondest of memories.   Our fiftieth reunion is coming up in a couple of years, and  I would have loved to see Billy come through the door.  I will really miss him.

Barb

Linda, I'm so very sorry to hear about Billy.   I knew him from Eddy and Baker.  He was a great guy.  I particularly remember one night on the Lindsey Creek Bypass, we just had test my Chevell against his Charger.  Of course, all of it at or below the speed limit.

My prayers are with you and the family.

So sorry to hear of Billy's passing. As Student Council Historian, I was privileged to know him and circle quietly on the outside of his group. He always had a friendly smile and a keen willingness to step up when called upon for help. A Lion through and through, we'll miss you Billy!

The thing I will always remember about Billy was the monopoly games he and I used to play for hours on end.  I remember this one time that Bill was bored with the game because it was to long and slow.  Billy came up with the idea of dealing out the deeds to the property and had a great improvement to the game.  We laughed and played and cheated each and always had a stash of monopoly money hidden somewhere on our person.  Also I remember Bill walking home from school with every book he had been issued at BHS to do some late after school study.  Bill was a success at every thing he tryed.  I wish I could have been more like him
